Debra B. Smith Memorial Veterinary Dental Forum Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded in honor of Deb Smith, who served for many years as managing editor of the Journal of Veterinary Dentistry alongside her husband Dr. Mark Smith.  Deb’s cheerful disposition was a gift to all who knew her. She ardently supported the American Veterinary Dental College’s mission to enhance pet dental healthcare.  This scholarship is sponsored by former residents of the Center for Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery and through donations to the Foundation for Veterinary Dentistry. 

The scholarship will cover:

·       Registration for the 2025 Veterinary Dental Forum in San Antonio, Texas

·       Veterinary Student Dental Extraction Laboratory Fee

·       Round Trip Coach Airfare to San Antonio, Texas

·       Hotel Accommodations for up to (4) nights at Host Hotel.

·       $75 Daily Food Stipend During the Forum

Applicants are required to be actively enrolled in veterinary dentistry student chapters with a demonstrated interest in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery. The deadline for applications is June 30th, 2025. Interested candidates will need to upload their CV, a faculty letter of recommendation, and a letter of interest outlining their desire to attend the Veterinary Dental Forum.  Successful candidates will be notified by July 15th, 2025.
