NEW for 2025! The fundamentals track will be soliciting a call for submissions. The VDF planning team has created a guideline for the content they are seeking. Please review their guidelines and submit a call for papers if you feel your content would be a fit.

Presentation length for Original Research: 20 minutes (15 min. lecture, 5 min. Q&A)

Intermediate Series

The Intermediate track format will vary from year to year, based on CORE dental topics (Endodontics, Periodontics, Restoratives, Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Oral Medicine, and Prosthodontics).

A general guideline will be provided below with subject matter for recruitment of speakers. As this is a guide, if there is an interesting topic within a CORE discipline that is not mentioned that you would like to submit, by all means do so.

Please make sure that you indicate INTERMEDIATE TRACK on your submission form.

Advanced Series

The Advanced track will continue its specialized, in depth, and updated information for attendees. Major changes have included designated topics per day, keynote speakers per topic to increase the comparative knowledge base, and shorter lectures to retain attendee engagement.

Conference Registration & Notification

The presenting author will be be notified of updates or acceptance via email by the end of April. A list of accepted presentation topics, authors, and the program schedule will be listed on this website no later than mid May.

Important Dates

  • Call for Papers closes March 31, 2026.

  • Speakers will be notified of their acceptance by May 4, 2026.

  • Signed speaker agreements are due by May 22, 2026.

  • All final Manuscripts are due by June 19, 2026.


Compensation

The 2026 honorarium is as follows:

$200/per lecture hour (50+ minutes)
$100/per lab hour for presenters
$50/per lab hour for assistants (limited number based on lab attendance)


PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Speakers must submit session titles, descriptions, and materials by specific deadlines.

  • Speakers are responsible for their own travel arrangements, lodging, and registration.

  • Domestic speakers must complete and sign a W-9 form.

  • International speakers - per IRS regulation, must provide an ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number). If you do not have one, we could be required by law to deduct 30% in taxes from your speaker compensation. International speakers who have an ITIN number, must complete and sign the 8233 form.

  • Manuscripts are due by June 19, 2026. These are required to qualify for compensation.

CANCELLATION BY SPEAKER:

  • You agree to notify the VDF immediately in the event that an emergency should prevent you from meeting your obligations as a speaker.

TAPING AND REPRODUCTION:

VDF may audiotape or videotape your presentation. These recordings of the presentations by audio, videotape, or any other form of media, will be used by VDF in a manner consistent with the VDF’s mission and purpose to educate the attendees. You agree to allow VDF to retain these recordings to allow VDF to pursue the reuse of those recordings for current year registered attendees, and for purchase to those who were unable to attend the annual conference for a limited time (90 days online registration).

Each Room will be set with a standard AV package. Speakers MUST provide their own laptop.
